weight gain during pregnancy

have been meaning to post about this for a while. recently it was out in cyber space that women need to gain up to 35 pounds during pregnancy. 35 pounds? really?  why? searched for quite some time to find out why that is.  as usual the information is quite skewed.

stating a need to gain up to 35 pounds, when what they really need to say here are the points that will cause you to gain weight.  totally different than women sitting around eating to gain an extra 35 pounds.

the actual weight gain will come in the following areas:
  • Baby: 8 pounds
  • Placenta: 2-3 pounds
  • Amniotic fluid: 2-3 pounds
  • Breast tissue: 2-3 pounds
  • Blood supply: 4 pounds
  • Stored fat for delivery and breastfeeding: 5-9 pounds
  • Larger uterus: 2-5 pounds
  • Total: 25-35 pounds

that being said, women really need to be gaining is about 5 - 9 pounds for delivery and breastfeeding, though i am still searching for the why we need to gain this, lol.  this means an additional 5-9 personal pounds, not including the amounts accounted for placenta, amniotic fluid and the rest.  once again, misleading the people.  wondering why women have all these problems losing weight?  have you ever attempted to lose 35 pounds?  not an easy task for most people let alone a woman who has just had a baby who now has to readjust and learn a whole new paradigm of life, while working, attempting to take care of herself and anyone else she has to take care of.

you go in for your check ups and the doc says, "why mrs. kalinde, you have only gained three pounds this week, you need to get in two more so you are on track for your 35!"  what he does not tell her is that the 35 pounds is not personal.  he does not tell her that she will gain up to 24 just by being in conception.  thus the woman goes home and sends her mate/friend out to buy more fattening foods because she is not making weight. now she spends the next 6-7 months trying to gain that erroneous 35.  she makes her mark, the baby is born and wham! 35 pounds to lose, even after the baby, amniotic fluid and placenta are gone, still 35. wanna know why some women get stressed?  right here is the answer.  more of this controlling thinking forcing us to succumb to desires of a sick nation that desires to create sick people.

why are these figures coming out?  i can only guess.... to support the whole sick industry is my guess.  hey, guys let's get the women in conception to gain all this unnecessary weight.  when they have to lose the weight, it will be hard.  this will force them to join one of our weight loss programs, get meds and if unsuccessful, we now have them purchasing larger clothes to support their new found weight.  we control the weight loss programs, we control the meds and we control the clothing industry.  win-win for us!

we can also keep it going, them gaining weight that is, by telling them they are eating for two.  sistars!  a baby is not a full fledged human being, and of a certainty does not eat as much as an adult so telling women to eat for two is just another way to get us caught up. we are not eating for two adults  we are eating for the health and well-being of ourselves and our newly created life.  who by the way, is getting nourished from what we eat, which is why it is so important to eat healthy nourishing foods.  we DO NOT need to eat EXTRA for the baby!

as a mother of three, who eats living foods, exercises, drinks enough water, etc, i can say for myself that i only gained a total of 15 pounds with each conception.  my children are not huge, each weighing in at about 5 pounds, no they were not preemies, well one was born at 36 weeks.  they were all healthy births with no complications.  all apgars were 9 or 10 on both testings.  despite what the industry has stated, none of our children are obese, nor are they sickly.  they are very healthy, happy children.

this is my peace......

the end of energy healing?

perusing my emails and come to find out that the state of maryland has proposed a bill to prevent individuals from using energy healing without a license, except in very limited instances.  for those of us who use energy, which is a force given to us all by the creator, this is almost identical to the witch hunts of years gone by.  preventing us from using our own power to help facilitate healing is another sign that the powers that be are feeling the imminent change going on in the world.  as more and more of us become awake and become aware of our abilities to not only heal, but to take control of our lives and healing, the more they are afraid of losing control of us.  as we wake up and stop being sheeple, we shorten the lives of the very few who control most of the resources of the world.

this leaves us with two choices, give in or fight!  i say fight.  we have to put an end to all of the misery, the hate, the despair that runs rampant due to the desire of a few to have all the luxuries while most of us struggle to survive.  now is the time for us to show we are not going to take this.  let them know WE will no longer be subdued.  send in letters, phone calls, if you must, but keep on sharing our energy with those in need.

this is my peace.....

Greetings all!

Here we are, once again.  Starting off this new blog with something I read regarding another McDonald's experiment.  Some of you may remember the documentary "Super-size Me", wherein the author did a month long study of health changes while eating exclusively McDonald's for a period of thirty days.

He expressed in brief that he had gained weight, his cholesterol had increased dramatically and he felt terrible.  He stated that this is what can happen on a diet exclusively from McDonald's.

Another man recently did a similar experiment, where he ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at only McDonald's for ninety days.  He claims to have an opposite experience.  He states that he actually lost 37 pounds and his cholesterol decreased.  He claims that it is not McDonald's that causes us health challenges, but our food choices.

I agree, to a point.  First, he restricted his caloric intake to 2000 per day.  That in and of itself will allow for weight loss.  It will also allow for cholesterol to decrease.  While his experiences may be true, his restriction of calories is not true of the average person who visits and consumes McDonald's on a regular basis.  Most people ARE not watching how many calories they eat.   A good majority of people ARE not exercising regularly, which this man did throughout his experiment.

My point, yes, it is true that we make choices for our food.  The wisdom lies in knowing the right things to eat, how much to eat, to drink enough water and to exercise.  All of these things need to take place.  As for McDonald's, really, to be healthy, how can they offer a burger that counts by itself for almost one half of a person's calories?  How can they use fryers and cholesterol laden oils and still want to be taken seriously as a company who is considerate of one's health?

I say eat more raw, NOW.

Let's RAWk!!!
